At the age of sixteen, Jarvis and his school friends decided to form a band. They called it Arabacus Pulp (later Pulp), a name taken from a school book. Still very young they were keen to get involved in the by then thriving Sheffield music scene. In this film Jarvis and his sister, Saskia, are interviewed together. They talk about their experiences of that time, Jarvis comments on their then favourite local band Artery and talk about Sheffield night life in those post punk years. Pulp
Pulp's involvement in the scene was still marginal compared to the other bands like the Human league, which were all a few years older than them. In 1980, Marcus Featherby a local band manager took them under his wing and organised their first gig at the Rotherham Arts Centre.
